Music Video Release: Tapes

Hi!

The other day I shot a music video for Acceptance’s first track, Tapes.

Being a completely DIY solo artist, sometimes it’s really tricky to find new ways to put together the “full band” experience but I’m always really surprised by how much you can get away with using limited tools.

The video for Tapes is shot on my iPhone (as all my videos are), a single shot that captured the unboxing and putting together of my new Roland 02K V-Drums.

Then I went into iMovie to stitch the audio to the video, sped up the frames (because the actual video was over an hour long – way exceeding Tapes run time!), and added a simple but very cool and effective iMovie comic filter to jazz up the shot.

Yeah, it’s maybe not as cool as having a graphic artist render up an original video in this style, but those types of videos start at like $500 easily (start at) and this one cost me absolutely nothing, showing once again that you don’t need to have a ton of money to be able to do things like produce a record or shoot a music video.

You can watch the video in full on my YouTube channel:
