A Brief History of Neither Could Dylan

Sometime in the fall of 2022 I caught a post on twitter looking for original artists to feature on an internet-based radio show. They’d asked you submit a handful of songs (10 or so) with brief audio snippets introducing the tracks; the idea was to promote lesser known artists and I thought it was a great way to do it.

While the station had expressed they’d do all the editing themselves and just to submit the clips themselves, I offered them that plus my fully realized version of my segment.

I never heard back from the station about whether or not they used the piece at all, or molded it into their own version, but I think it acts as a great introduction to me and my music if you’re new to it.

These days I’m mostly promoting my debut album Acceptance but it’s been a bit of a journey to get to this point and I still love everything else I put out before it.

So, now, for maybe the first time and only available on my website, here is the complete “A Brief History of Neither Could Dylan” as told by me, Neither Could Dylan.

It starts with 2020’s “Champagne Birthday” and ends with the acoustic cut of “Happy” from Acceptance before I holed myself away to finish producing that record.

Thanks for listening & I hope you enjoyed learning a little more about me and my music.

What’s next?

If you’re wondering what’s coming next – I’ve begun the follow up to Acceptance and I’ll be sharing part of that process with you right here on the official NCD blog, so be sure to subscribe if you want to keep up with it.

And check out my latest original song, “Girls Like Me” with this special live version on my Bandcamp page:

A little more

If you like the songs featured on the show, you can still hear most of them online.

Tracks like “Champagne Birthday” and “Still Catching Up” ended up making up my album called The Clearing which I later released under my given name Jaimee Jakobczak.

The 3-song Sprout EP is only available on my Bandcamp right now.

And “Driveway” and my folk-cover ff The Postal Service’s “Such Great Heights” are featured on Jestem Krzywym Lasem, a much more stripped down acoustic EP also released under my given name.

Both those albums and Acceptance are available to purchase on my online store or on Bandcamp in physical or digital copies, so be sure to check that out.

There’s more than even that including a couple cover band projects, but I’ll write some more blogs about the other projects in the coming weeks.

Thanks again & talk to ya soon
