Happy New Year!

I started working on this cover late last year, originally I was just going to whip up a relatively faithful acoustic version, but I thought it might sound cool if I threw on some distorted guitars and pop-punked it up a little. I guess I was still just in a weird pop-punky headspace after covering Elvis’ Can’t Help Falling in Love just beforehand.

I’ve mentioned Julian Taylor a fair bit over the past couple years because I got myself well acquainted with his work back in 2020 and can’t find a single thing by the guy I don’t like. His Pathways album is one of my favourite new releases with Weighing Down arguably being the most important song I needed to hear in 2024.

So, here’s my little spin on it. Hope you enjoy!
